Description
A float depicting the first thanksgiving passing by Plymouth Rock.
Plimoth Plantation is a living history museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, that re-creates and interprets life in Plimoth Village in 1627. At that time, the original Plymouth settlement was populated by approximately one hundred and sixty colonists who had arrived in 1620 on the Mayflower and later other ships. In the Plantations re-created village all the major facets of Pilgrim life are represented. Timber-framed houses line the main street, gardens are under cultivation, and rare breeds of livestock inhabit the pens. The village bustles with activity as role playing interpreters go about the business of their everyday life in 1627. They maintain their authenticity by never acknowledging any reference to future events .
