Artist's Description

The Mashpee River is one of Cape Cod’s immaculate tidal stream
environments. It has miles of pristine shoreline, natural spawning areas, and excellent water quality as well as being one of Massachusetts' finest sources of rare, sea-run brook trout. It begins at Mashpee Wakeby Pond and empties into Pirate's Cove on Popponesset Bay.

During this time of my life (mid seventies) I am enthusiastically engaged in more or less full time photography. I think that my former professional life as an Environmental Scientist and University Professor has provided me with many useful tools that I now use in my photography. Among these are observational skills, technical understanding, and, perhaps, most important, patience. In short, I am comfortable with the mechanics of my camera and the nuances of the computer software that I use. What is new and exciting to me, is the opportunity to pursue the goal of conveying the beauty and diversity of my surroundings through photography and photographic techniques.
